Authentic Christianity and Service

Having completed the course of Beginnings, I now have a better understanding of what I may do as a person with the my strengths. The Christian service that I perform is now strengthened by the knowledge of what areas I should stress in my work. Everyone obvioulsy has diferent strengths too which we all can contribute properly to one another to create a coheresive work as a whole. Each rising to the top of a problem when it is necessary to help one another. All of our strengths complimenting one another. This is what should comprise one another of the the Christian community. Precisely identifying one another's strengths too which we can use them too the group's benefits.

Diversity

Diversity among people is what makes up the world. Not one person is the same as another. This issue has gotten so big in America that now, everyone must learn to cope with it and begin to find means to address it properly. Going to college maybe a shock to some people for their home may have not had any diversity among race. But now that they are in college, they see that everyone has an equal chance at an education. WIth this we all must learn to live together. Understand the diferences and similarities among one another and begin to work well as a whole.

Global Vision

During this week's beginnings, we leanred all about how we are called to serve the world. The dude said that every Christian should at one time, attend another country and begin to minister. I don't entirel agree with this. We need to clean up the areas around our homes before we can set our eyes other places. It would almost be hypocritical to say that wherre we live isn't in need of help, so we then go to other places. The process of being a missionary can be one of the hardest things for oene to get through. end.

Genocide

in last weeks beginning, I was shocked on how the students seemed to be uninformed of this issue. They were alarmed by the numbers of the Holocaust. Also the idea on that there will soon be no one to give an account is alarming. The informaion on the first hand accounts needs to be preserved for a well account of the facts. But now there is a Genocide happeing in Darfure. I don't believe this problem will ever be solved.

Lust

This weeke in beginning we learned about women's and men's issues. The women had the issues of sexual assualt and the men had to the topic of porn. I think that the problem of porn is greater than percieved. I know close people that have struggled with it. Hopefully people can be educated about it so then they will not have to deal with the trials of it.

Alcohol

I have never had a problem with drinking. Yes I would go to partys and kick-backs but I went to watch my friends. Being sober at a party and watching people make a fool of themself can be hilarious. I would always ask if any needs a ride home. I've had to take my friends keys a few times. People ask why I don't drink. I just have no want to. People think I drink for whatever sterotype they label me. When they find out that I'm dry they're usually shocked. Members in my family deal with drinking and I think the want to not leave the same impression is what is driving me to no drink.

BLOG BLOG BLOG!!!!

there are so many things i want to accomplish this year!! one of them is too pas ex/deu class. Im not that good at the bibloe so we'll see how I do. Second I want to drive up to my friends college and hang out with them. Lastly I want to have lots and lots of fun. Yes, yes I do. My strength of self assurance should help me accomplish these goals for I can also use positivity to acomplish this stuff!! Man I can't wait! ITS GOING TO BE SO MUCH FUN!!!

Top 5 Strengths

Hey it's time for my top 5 strengths.

Includer- I guess that means I like to include people. Yeah I can see how that is true. For I know how it feels to be left out so then why would you want other people to feel that way? It's not that that to include someone in something but if you do think it's hard then that's messed up.

Adaptability- I can change with the current situation with no problem. I like to go with the flow and live life at a slow pace for I hate being in a rush. Whats the point to be in a rush when you can plan ahead and not have that problem.

Positivity- I like to encourage people and make the best of every situation. It's always a good thing to have some gnarly posi on your side. Downers are just not fun.

Self Assurance- I'm not sure if that means that I assure myself or if I assure others but either way it's a cool trait to have. It kinda goes along with the whole positivity thing. It helps me get through tough things by knowing that I can do it.

Learner- That sounds kinda lame. But it's true I do like to learn as long as it's something that I really want to know. But isn't that true for anyone? It just easily grabs my attention and I want to keep knowing more about it.

Who am I?

Hello blog readers. This is the first blog written by Greg Christian. You might want to write down the date and time at which you are reading this, for this is a monumental occasion. But this blog is named, "Who am I?" and thats exactly what you are gonna learn. Well my full name is Gregory Lloyd Christian and I am an 18 year old freshmen at APU. Cougars rule. I'm gonna be a graphics designer. My family is from Orange County, CA. I have an older sister. She's pretty cool. I live life at a mellow pace. Why be in a hurry to get some where when you can plan ahead for it and make the trip easier? I am single so if any of you APU ladies read this and are interested, hit me up. I love to surf and skate. When I can, I like to ride my bike, sleep, and eat. But not all at the same time. That would just be crazy. And rightnow I am mostly tired so I think I'm gonna finish the movie Platoon and then take a nap, then get soe food, then go to class, then hang out with the guys from Second South.
